Wacky Wednesday 教師樂活活動
Most Wednesdays!
On a Wednesday afternoon in most weeks our English department colleagues get to participate in an out-of-school activity.
We call this time our “Wacky Wednesday” because we get to do different and fun things from what we would usually be doing!
Sometimes our activity involves eating, sometimes our activity involves exercise, sometimes our activity involves shopping, but always our activity involves fun!
Halloween 萬聖節

Over the course of the school year, we have many extra-curricular activities in Jiantan Elementary School.
One of our favorite activities is Halloween.
This is a scary and exciting time for our teachers and students alike.
In many of the activities, dressing up as monsters and ghosts and giving out candy as treats is the favorite.
We look forward to this activity with much enthusiasm each year.
Christmas 聖誕節

Christmas is a very traditional time in not only western culture, but also throughout the world.
In this happy and festive time, people put aside their worries and cares and think about love and concern for all people in the world.
Christmas time is a favorite in Jiantan Elementary School with dress-ups, Christmas trees and classroom decorations all part of the fun.
Easter 復活節

Easter is another Christmas is a very traditional and important time in western culture that also resonates in many cultures throughout the world.
There are many different forms and ways of participating in this event and the children often love the celebration of new life with the Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs.
This event is always has a place on our school calendar.
Mothers' Day 母親節
Yearly event
Mother’s Day is truly a universal celebration around the world in all cultures.
After all, everyone has a mother that looked after them when they were very young and to whom they are always grateful.
In Jiantan Elementary School much is made of this celebration with the students producing many touching cards and giving these and flowers to their mothers.
This is an event that everyone loves!
Parents' Day 家長日
Yearly event
Parents’ Day, like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, is another favorite time in our school calendar.
The children love to participate in activities in our school that help them to understand and show their love and respect for their parents.
This is an event that everyone loves!
